Why others have taken this course called….Power of Connection
“One time I quit a job…a solid, stable, interesting job because I was so fed up with my co-workers…one in particular. I just “couldn’t deal anymore”. So, I left. And then, 7 years later, I left another job to avoid that which I ‘just didn’t want to deal with anymore’.”
Power of Connection taught me to navigate the “hard” relationships that I wanted to avoid.
“Yesterday, I walked down the aisle of the grocery store and caught a glance of someone I know. My body cringed and stomach twisted with an urge to escape. My eyes lowered. I turned away.”
Power of Connection delivered and exercised skills for connecting communication even when my reactions to “flee” are strong.
“I had been together with my husband for years, and there we were, sitting on the front steps of our house with kids napping inside having one of those conversations that makes my head tight like there are rubberbands around it. I get hot. I get agitated and tell him how frustrated I am when we get to this point in our discussions and I don’t know what else to say and just want to storm off to cool off. He’s mad. I’m mad. And, I don’t know what to do next other than “talk about it later”.
Power of Connection offered choices of ways to keep moving through the ”heat” of conflict.

Gracious Space is a remarkably adaptive, foundational concept that can add value to many situations, whether in business, community groups, school groups or at home. It is a technique, but more, it is a way of being that shapes our interactions with others. Gracious Space is a highly effective leadership tool. It is a framework for working with conflict.
As Gracious Space tools are learned, practiced and integrated, individuals improve the quality of their relationships, groups learn to value the different talents and perspectives of their members, and whole organizations and communities become continuous learners, applying mutual respect and creativity to some of their most intractable problems.
Contact MC for your custom program and pricing. As a Gracious Space facilitator, I meet with you over a period of time assessing and creating a program that fits the context of your group.
Gracious Space is a project of the Center for Ethical Leadership.
